Jasmin Prophete (they/them) is a Caribbean-American screenwriter and filmmaker based between New York and Los Angeles. 

Jasmin’s debut short film, “Leo Lets It Rain,” has screened at festivals around the world, including Oscar-qualifying Leeds International Film Festival. Their feature script, NINE NIGHT, was a top 10 semi-finalist for the Tribeca Film Festival 2026 AT&T Untold Stories Grant. Their pilot script, ZONBI, was a finalist for the 2026 WIF x The Black List Episodic Lab. The upcoming proof-of-concept short, ZONBI, was shortlisted for the 2025 Tribeca and Chanel Through Her LensWomen’s Filmmaker Program. Jasmin is a 2024 alumni of the Scope of Work Fellowship. Jasmin holds a BFA from NYU Tisch in Dramatic Writing and Social & Cultural Analysis.

Entering the entertainment industry with a background in social justice work, Jasmin is instinctively drawn to challenging and surprising stories about marginalized communities and liberation.
